Too good

A young soldier was attending some college courses
between assignments.

He had also completed missions in Afghanistan.

One of the courses had a professor who was a vowed atheist.
One day the professor shocked the class when he came in. He
Looked to the ceiling and flatly stated, "God, if you are
real, then I want you to knock me off this platform. I'll
give you exactly 15 minutes."

The lecture room fell silent. You could hear a pin drop.
Ten minutes went by and the professor proclaimed, "Here
I am God. I'm still waiting." It got down to the last
couple of minutes when the young soldier got out of his
Chair, went up to the professor, and cold-cocked him;
knocking him off the platform. The professor was out cold.
 The young man went back to his seat and sat there, silently.
The other students were shocked and stunned and sat there
looking on in silence.

The professor eventually came to, noticeably shaken, looked
at the soldier and asked, "What the hell is the matter with!
you? Why did you do that?"

Came the reply,





"God was too busy today protecting our soldiers who are
protecting your right to talk stupid and act like an asshole.
So, He sent me"

So y'all know I am a big goof ball. I usually say what I am thinking to a certain extent but I like to goof around at everything I do.
Anyways there is this older lady at work and when I say older I am talking probably closer to her 60's. So we chat all the time and I am always goofing off and joking with her. I walked into her office today and noticed what looked like a shot glass sitting on her desk so I pick it up and do a little stumble and ask "So wear are you hiding the booze? I know your sitting here doing shooters all day and I was not invited"

She stares at me for a minute and blinks

*blink*blink*

Before she even said anything to me I knew what I had said was W.R.O.N.G. she then tells me

"Its a communion cup the minister said to keep it close so that we are always thinking of God and God is always with us"




Ummm yeah for the first time in awhile I was left with nothing to say...

No More part-time job.. ha ha.. I was laughing about it really working in HR and then having the "talk" about how "inappropriate" me walking out was and I had explained I had only come in to thank them for the opportunity of working for them blah, blah and that I had made my decision when I left that I was not looking to still work there i just wanted them to be aware of the situation with the manager and the fact that I am up front and I am not afraid to complain to management about the situation and the little fucker prays on the fact that EVERYONE is so young (part-time jobs and all) and everyone is afraid of management. They explained that my "issue" was not the only one from the evening and they were going to address it.

So that's that. I picked up applications for some new places opening up soon but the more I think of it, is my time worth it?? Humm we will see how much they offer me.. ha ha I am such a work-alcoholic!!

I am such a little shit!

So um yeah.. I have not yet blogged about the part time gig I have been doing but lets just say tonight did not go so well.

Y'all know how messed up my back is right? Well I asked the manager on duty if it would be possible to sit in one of the departments that has a chair. (I have had a go around with this manager once before) Well I asked to sit because I was in A LOT of pain, its something I have NEVER asked to do before but at my "real" job today we moved a bunch of stuff around and I was bent over filing cabinets today. Anyways the manager said "NO ONE is aloud to sit down unless they have a Dr. note" I explained a little of my situation (begging is not one of my finer qualities) about my back situation and he walked away. I went to the bathroom shortley after GUESS WHO WAS SITTING IN A FUCKING CHAIR??? THE FUCKING ASSHOLE MANAGER TEXTING ON HIS CELL PHONE!!!
I then took my break early so I could sit. And when I came back the little snot I was working with was sitting there talking as usual (SHE DOES NO WORK AT ALL) so I went to check the change rooms and there were PILES of shit! I dragged it all out in 3 loads and put in on the counter and then took a long pause to think about things.

And I walked out. No job is worth fucking my back up more. Then as soon as I made it to the car (my guilty conscious) I called the store manager and left a message (he loves me) and I called my manager and told her to call me tomorrow.

So we will see. Jack ass manager. There was one time before when I first started that me and this other girl who just started LITERALLY that night and had never closed before (I had closed one time before) I called him to ask for help AND HE GOT PISSED OFF AT US BOTH BECAUSE "AHH HELL YOU GUYS ARE NEW!!" And walked away from us. He also made a customer cry, and he forced a customer to SCREAM at him. I mean it should NEVER get that bad that you make a customer cry, or scream at you. So I went straight to the store manager with this information and he had not talked to me since. Until tonight when I requested to sit.

Ha ha its entertaining to me really. Tomorrow will tell.

Ok so Dixie had mentioned and blogged about this FABULOUS pair of FMB she just bought for $17.99 at Ross. Well what does a shoe HOARDER (I have no shame) do??

She jumps right in the car and heads to Ross because SURELY I could snag the same pair for such a GREAT deal. (They are HOT should check them out) anyways I did not have much luck in finding the same boots but SOMEHOW these new pretties jumped in the cart with me with a BEAUTIFUL pair of brown shoes.

The picture does not really do them justice... yeah they are HOT and they are Guess and they look SO GOOD on me and seeing how I will see snow for the first time in 4 years I figured a cute pair of FMB were in order.

RWA you asked if I had EVERY color under the sun? I do EXCEPT brown. Like Patty said I am allergic to brown shoes. Serious. I put the pretty brown HOT shoes in my cart and pushed them around the store with me for 20 minutes and then they JUMPED right out.. I know the weirdest thing. Maybe they knew they would have a life of being gazed at and never worn? Maybe they could sense how UGLY I really thought they were? Could they sense it? I also tried to tell myself they were more gold than brown but no. They knew. So escaped with only 3 pairs this time.



Still not 100% about these...lol But they were only $10!!!

OK y'all know my little issues I have had with my weight.. so yeah eating properly is a NEW thing for me and its posing quite a challenge BUT WEEHOOO I am down a FEW pounds and I am SUPER looking forward to my vacation home in Oct!! So I am going to bust my ass from now till then and try to lose some more weight so I am looking HOT for my 30th b-day... oh yeah thats in 2 weeks..UGG

So bad

I have been seriously slacking on my blogging both reading and posting.. I have been busy working extra part time hours to put away extra cash for my trip... till I went to the mall today and BOUGHT MORE SHOES!!! Seriously they need a 12 step program. I will post pictures tomorrow. We will all have to start naming them so I can keep them straight.

I feel bad, the girl I work with was offered the position (she was a temp) and then they offered her the job and then she gave them her vacation time ( 3 weeks in the next 3 months) and they changed there minds and told her that they can no honor that much time and blah blah, so she is not longer going to be working with me. It's probably better though because EVERYTHING happens for a reason no matter how stupid the situation. I explained it to her that she is taking the time to spend time with her family and there will ALWAYS be other jobs.

They are opening a Kohl's, Bed Bath and Beyond and a Micheal's in our little small town and its all ANYONE can talk about. The part time job I have right now is trying to "save" its employees by letting us wear jeans every other week and offering free lunches on the weekend.

Yeah they are getting killed with all the people leaving..... Oh and I guessed it would be 3 months before they offered me a supervisory position.. yeah it was 1 month... Not sure what I am going to do as of yet (it would still be part time) I kinda like the luxury of going in and now worrying about anything and going home, if I was a manager I would have budgets, schedules, ect. I have done it all in the past but I REALLY like going in and going home and not having to CARE about anything... well see... Money talks.. lol

The new shoes!!

Ok so Patty is such a great friend and she LOVES shoes just as much as I do and when she came out to visit she brought be the MOST BEAUTIFUL surprise I am so MAD that I did not get a picture of them they were purple suede shoes that were a bit too big so I had to venture out to DSW to exchange them today and THEY DID NOT HAVE THE SHOES!!! They did however make the lady who was doing my exchange squeal in delight that she was going to buy them at the end of her shift and had not seen those ones in her store (always love to help out another shoe CRAZY!)

Anyways in replacement of the ONE pair of shoes I BOUGHT 2 pairs of shoes + 2 more (I mean whats a girl to do its been MONTHS since I have shoe shopped!!)... well all because I am so great at squandering the clearance racks to find the good deals!! Well I bought 4 and left and I loved them all and then I got to the mall and got to thinking "Humm am I going to wear those plaid ones? I mean I LOVE them but will I wear them?"
Well answer was no so I went back and had another look and I was BUYING SHOES JUST TO BUY THEM!!! Well I decided on the 2 pairs that I L.O.V.E.D. the most and did not think I could live without.....

Its been awhile

Well at least I have LOTS of updates.

The hubby and I celebrated out 4th wedding anniversary on Thursday last week.... I can not believe where the time goes!!

1) Finally started going back to the gym and its feeling pretty fabulous!!! I wish the weight was coming off quicker but I am certainly learning patience.

2) I am NOT going to be running the Detroit marathon in October with Mrs. Patty and I am still a bit upset about it. Nothing bad between the 2 of us just the reality of ALSO wanting to go home and visit for a week after the run and the money to do it all..... just can not do both.

3) Mrs Patty and I will be doing the LA marath0n in March which will be AWESOME!! Because by them the husband will be able to come out too and cheer us on. It will also be fun to show Patty and her family around LA and give us time to visit.

4) Daisy is as cute as ever. She to bold though, I mean Patty was here for 4 days and she would take food from her, lick her, lay in her bed with her and then bark at her in the same breath...

5) Went out Friday night for the first time since I went out at home in May.. I had SO MUCH fun, the bars are a little "different" here and it was with a girl I work with that I said "I would never do" but I have faced the music its a little hard to meet people out here if I do not own a tractor or cowboy boots and hat!! And shes cool I think we are going to be great friends!

6) GOING SHOPPING FOR THE FIRST TIME IN 2 MONTHS!!! Driving 2 hours to Denver so I can visit DSW Mrs Patty bought me the MOST beautiful pair of PURPLE shoes EVER but they are a little big so I need to exchange them but you can put money of SHOE PICTURES tomorrow.. oh and I just got the email they are giving out EXTRA points too!!

7) Its the long weekend WEEHOOO!!!

8) I have many a story about my new part time job. I got into it with one of the "supervisors" and took it to the store manager and now he is being REALLY nice to everyone so I feel I am making my stamp on that place.. Ha ha.. Not to mention the AWESOME discounts that I am getting...

I am crazy!!

Yeah so I got up at 5:30am to go to the gym.... One of the girls I work with her dad is military so we went to the Army base and the gym is BEAUTIFUL!!! So yeah I go home in 2 months and its going to be lighter than last time I went because when I look back at the pictures... umm not so nice....
So all week @ 5:30 this should be interesting...

FINALLY the race post.....

So Friday I picked Patty up from the airport and we were off in the convertible. Just for fun we drove around the airport 4 times because it was so cute (more because we KEPT MISSING our exit) and kept taking the airport return to go back.. ha ha

(The Thelma and Louise theme I will need to take a picture of the sign Patty made so I would not miss her at the airport)


Well we were on the road talking a mile a minute (reason 1, 2 we missed the exit) it was like being with an old friend, the minute she got off the plane it felt like we had known each other FOREVER! And it was a great time, no awkward silences, we spent 5 full days together and it was SO MUCH FUN!! There were people in both our lives worried about if we would get along or if she was crazy (just like me) but it was AWESOME!!

We finally hit the road and we were South Dakota bound, we stopped for a healthy (er) lunch at Subway on the way and talk about EVERYTHING (I am so sending you a SEXY thong) life, marriage, running there was just something so comfortable about being with her, we finally got to Spearfish and checked into our hotel. The guy at the front was rude when I had explained that I had called to make sure we could have a late checkout on Sunday after the race so we could have a shower before the 5 hour drive home. It was funny really.



Saturday morning we headed to the Expo and met Elaine its amazing what hearing ones persons experience can set a fire in someone else. We picked up our packages and chips and headed out for lunch. We decide to plot the coarse and drive it just to see what it would be like. We mapped it from where we were told we would start and headed on our way, I was almost in tears at the end when I realized there was a HUGE HILL we had to run up at the end to the tune of 3 miles!!! Patty told me not to worry and I would be fine (secretly I was PANICKING!!) we were so sure this was the way we paid special attention driving it back. It was SO BEAUTIFUL out there the scenery really was relaxing and calming. We headed back to the hotel to rest a bit before the spaghetti dinner.

At dinner we met these amazing ladies. They had all met online as well and have been running marathons together ever since. Me and Marjorie (first one on the left) chatted like old friends and even teared up a few times talking about running and what running means for each of us. Harriette having only know 1/2 hour offered to let me use her camel back as I was stressing that I had left mine at home and Mary actually lives and runs in the same area as Patty.
Dinner was AWESOME and we met some great friends. I hope to keep in contact with these ladies and maybe see them again and run with them next year!!



We woke up at 3am just to be sure we had plenty of time to get to the finish line where the buses were going to pick us up and take us to the start. We drove to where we had mapped the coarse and we saw all the water stations along the way so we knew we were heading in the right direction. And we drove and we were both wondering out loud "WHERE THE HELL IS IT!!" We were the ONLY car on the road so we double checked the time to see if we had made a mistake and drove the coarse AGAIN (me in panic about the 3 mile hill at the end) then we FINALLY saw another car and wanted to follow it. We at this time realized we had already missed the bus to the start so we just drove there and sure enough everything worked out. Within minutes of us parking the buses with everyone else pulled up.
We made it to the Porta Potties just before the buses unloaded and you could feel the nervous tension in the air. We walked the 500meters to the start and we did a little stretching AND WE WERE OFF!!!

It was amazing and beautiful, and fun, and exciting, and emotional..... Words can not express what this experience was like...






After the race Patty and I went for a "dip" in this waterfall.. yeah it was BELOW freezing water but its great for muscle issues and helps with cramping... I wish I was CRAZY enough to post the picture that Patty hard taken of my in the water.. Yeah its not pretty At all and it was so PAINFUL!!

The most amazing time ever!!

But y'all are going to have to wait for the good stuff because at this point my toenails hurt, and it hurts to BREATH!!! But there is much more of this adventure to share!!



Oh and thats me and Ms Patty who is now my BFF for sharing this experience with me!!

I will be back to blog land soon I just need to be able to work on wlak ing again first...lol Oh yes this is PAINFULL!!

So nervous I am going to PUKE!!

So my 1/2 marathon is coming up THIS SUNDAY!!! I am excited and nervous all at the same time. I am SUPER excited to pick up Patty at the airport Friday and spend 5 glorious days together. WEHHOOO finally meeting someone from blog land. Patty is a GREAT runner and for fun the other day (part of her training) she RAN 20 miles!!! Frigging hell. I feel ready for this and then I do not. Considering today is the first day in 5 days that I have been able to hold down food (everyone at work has been sick) I am thinking I need to work up my strength!!! If worse comes to worse then I will be walking. I know I can walk it but I was looking to RUN at least 1/2 of it seeing how I still can not run the full 13.1 miles!!

So I pick up Ms. Patty Friday morning
We drive to South Dakota
Saturday we pick up our packs and EAT LIKE KINGS
Bed early because we have a 4am bus ride up to the start.

GREAT NEWS!!

Well there was some bad news running up to the good news so I am going to keep that a secret but the great news is.

MY DEAR FRIEND JESSICA IS GETTING MARRIED!!!

Oh and more great news!! I AM THE MATRON OF HONOR!!!

Can I tell you how excited I am!! And to give you a little back story on my dear friend Jessica she is the kind of person who always told me "I will never get married" oh and " I will never have babies" Well now shes GETTING MARRIED AND GOING TO TRY HAVING BABIES!!!

I am so EXCITED for her that shes happy and finally after kissing a few frogs has found "the one"

Oh and this is SORT of what our bridesmaid dresses will look like the top look the same but they will be cute little short dresses the site it was posted on would not let me steal it (these are COMPLETELY stolen from D*vids BR*dal .... She is torn between Pink and Red and I am PUSHING for the Red because its her favorite color (I mean which ever she chooses I can WORK either color and hey NEW SHOES!)
But I LOVE the dress style. What do you think? Red or Pink?

*** added note there are sure some UGLY ass wedding party shoes on that site. I mean I understand the need to be "practical" but I am not 80***

Sick like a dog

I am even typing this as I sit on the toilet... lol Just kidding. But I have seemed to have picked up a stomach bug and its SUCKING ASS right now.
3 people at work are sick with it, and even though I went in yesterday they sent me home and today I was going to go in even though I am not 100% but my guts are telling me different.

I need to kick this so that I can finish up my training for my run next weekend. 13.1 miles friggin hell lets hope by tomorrow I can hold food down because that would be GREAT.....
