George Carlin's Views on Aging

Do you realize that the only time in our lives when we like to get old is when we're kids? If you're less than 10 years old, you're so excited about aging that you think in fractions.

"How old are you?" "I'm four and a half!" You're never thirty-six and a half. You're four and a half, going on five! That's the key!!

You get into your teens, now they can't hold you back.

You jump to the next number, or even a few ahead.

"How old are you?" "I'm gonna be 16!" You could be 13, but hey, you're gonna be 16! And then the greatest day of your life . . . you BECOME 21. Even the words sound like a ceremony. YOU BECOME 21. YESSSS!!!

But then you turn 30. Oooohh, what happened there? Makes you sound like bad milk! He TURNED; we had to throw him out. There's no fun now, you're just a sour-dumpling. What's wrong? What's changed?

You BECOME 21, you TURN 30, then you're PUSHING 40. Whoa! Put on the brakes, it's all slipping away. Before you know it, you RE ACH 50 and your dreams are gone.

But wait!!! You MAKE IT to 60. You didn't think you would!

So you BECOME 21, TURN 30, PUSH 40, REACH 50 and MAKE IT to 60.

You've built up so much speed that you HIT 70! After that it's a day-by-day thing; you HIT Wednesday!

You get into your 80s and every day is a complete cycle; you HIT lunch; you TURN 4:30 ; you REACH bedtime and it doesn't end there.
Into the 90s, you start going backwards; "I Was JUST 92."

HOW TO STAY YOUNG
1. Throw out nonessential numbers. This includes age, weight and height. Let the doctors worry about them. That is why you pay "them."

2. Keep only cheerful friends. The grouches pull you down.

3. Keep learning. Learn more about the computer, crafts, gardening, whatever. Never let the brain idle. "An idle mind is the devil's workshop." And the devil's name is Alzheimer's.

4. Enjoy the simple things.

5. Laugh often, long and loud. Laugh until you gasp for breath.

6. The tears happen. Endure, grieve, and move on. The only person, who is with us our entire life, is ourselves. Be ALIVE while you are alive.

7. Surround yourself with what you love, whether it's family, pets, keepsakes, music, plants, hobbies, whatever.

Your home is your refuge.

8. Cherish your health : If it is good, preserve it. If it is unstable, improve it. If it is beyond what you can improve, get help.

9 Don't take guilt trips. Take a trip to the mall, even to the next county; to a foreign country but NOT to where the guilt is.

10. Tell the people you love that you love them, at every opportunity.

When it rains it pours!!

Which always seem the case in out lives. So y'all know we are moving and now the dates are confirmed.
Hubby reports to work June 25th so he is leaving California June 19th to go and scope out the area and find us somewhere to live. No worries I trust his judgement the last place he picked out before I moved here from Canada was BEAUTIFUL and we lived there for 3 years so I am not worried about anything there.
I am going to arrange for the movers to come June 24th because it takes about 2 weeks for our stuff to get there depending on weather and the company said they can still pick it up without and address and we can call it in mid way.

Well the other day the overheat light came on in my car. I turned off the car and it went away so I drove to work.
The next day the same thing so hubby booked me an appointment at the dealership to have them look at it. Well I went to said "appointment" and because it was a Saturday of a long weekend they would not be able to fit me in.
So I went to the shop that is right near the house and they said "We can not touch it because its a VW you need to take it to the dealership"
So I tried another dealership and it was the same thing.
So long weekend and my driving needs to be kept to a minimal not to mention the added expense if something is REALLY wrong is stressing me out.

Oh and then at work I found out that I am paid to date (I am staying till the 29th). Which means my last day worked is my last day of pay!! Yeah a bit stressful when you are moving and not going to have a job and still have bills to pay.

And poor Daisy is in heat and now we are going to have to have our couch cleaned before we leave because she has bleed all over it. Nice. An added expense that is not so cool right now.

And then there is the icing on the cake. This move is paid COMPLETELY by us. Yep so we are paying for the WHOLE move out of our own pockets because unfortunately the job posting did not also include relocation. But we both know and understand it will be better in the long run so we are going to suck it up for a few months till we are back on our feet and the reap the benefits of this move for the rest of our lives.

So I hate to say there will be no shoe shopping for the next 6 months. Yeah I know what are you all going to do??

These are my 2 best girlfriends. Salinna on the Left, me in the middle and Sara on the right. I have MANY more pictures to post so stay tunned!

Tagged by Dixie

Frig AGAIN!! I think I have done this MANY times before but I love tagging people so tee hee I will do it again. Sorry if you already knew maybe some of these.

The Rules:
* Players start with 8 random facts about themselves.
* Those who are tagged should post these rules and their 8 random facts.
* Players should tag eight other people and notify them that they have been tagged.

Ok Randoms 8 Random facts:

1. The sound of someone clipping there nails is like nails on a chalk board to me. It makes me gag and gives me the shivers. (even when I do it myself) I try to tune it out when I am at the nail salons for my pedicures..UUGGG

2. I want to jump out of a plane and go bungee jumping (which I can not any more because of my back)

3. The smallest thing can make me cry. Except when I am at work (with the exception to Thursdays staff meeting where someone asks us to pray for their uncle who is dying in the hospital) And when I am mad. When I am frustrated (which has not been for awhile) I can cry too. Commercials, weddings the baby story on TLC.

4. I HATE those STUPID flat ballerina shoes... HATE UGG they are gross. And I used the word hate in the same sentence as SHOES so I REALLY do not like them.

5. I talk to myself in the car. And I have also noticed that I swear A LOT at traffic and bad drivers. It has become VERY apparent now that I drive a convertible how Loud I really am behind the wheel. Oh and I also sing out loud and do not care who is listening. Oh and maybe I dance a little too.

6. I like any kind of food. Serious. I am not a picky eater at all. Which is prevalent to the size of my ass. I am allergic to hot dogs, bologna and tomato soup (just soup though not sauces or tomatoes they are my FAV)

7. I drink LOTS of water. Serious I go through approx 8 bottles a day at work and then about 3 at home. Its the only thing I drink. No juice, no soda, no coffee. Yeah I know its strange.

8. I LOVE nice linens and LOVE great towels I have a closet full to prove it! (I worked in retail for a linen dept for 3 years)

Ok I tag

So we are home and Safe

2 weeks was just enough time. It was weird though because as soon as we knew about Wyoming we wanted it to go faster. So it looks like we will be there by the end of June. The hubby has to tie up lose ends at his job and they have to hire another manager and he wanted to stay until they are trained but it looks like Wyoming wants him there ASAP so they have agreed to middle ground. Longer than 2 weeks but just enough time to get use situated. He is going to have to go out sooner than me and I will meet him a couple weeks later. Which works for me, I can tie up lose ends here work a bit longer before being unemployed for who knows how long.

WEHOOO we are moving to Wyoming. Oh and I checked some of the runs out there and they are all in and through the mountains. LOL I will post links later but they look pretty torturous!!

And its SO GOOD to be home, the vacation was a blast, it was fun to spend time with family and friends but so good to sleep in your own bed.

More later... I need to unpack and try to go through as much stuff as possible to get ride of before our move.....

Big news update from Canada

So I think I have kept a pretty good secret about this one, Not sure if I have blogged about it but anyways.

Big news.

Hubby was offered a position in Cheyenne Wyoming. And we are moving. In less than a month and I am in Canada and I need to pack and get organized...lol

So when he is done all his calls I am going to call work and tell them I am coming back early so I can get as many hours as I can before we move and they can also start the hiring process because its Gov it TAKES FOREVER!! I had already warned my manager and explained how I was burned last time by giving too much notice and it biting me in the ass but she says they would not do the same thing.

So wish us luck!!

Cheyenne Wyoming here we come!! Friggin hell another move.

So many things to do

We leave early tomorrow for CANADA BABY!! I am so friggin excited that I have not even packed yet. Serious so today after work (yes I came to work) I have to rush home and start packing.
The good news is that all the shoes are in there individual bags sitting in the suitcase already, so at least all the important things are ready!!
And I have mostly taken out all the stuff I am going to bring all I need to do is confirm that I want to bring the items as I place them in my suitcase.
I just called and told the husband to take out the passports. Talk about being crazy and leaving it to the last minute..lol

It will all work out. OOOII OOOIIII (screams of excitement!!)

So I will maybe be MIA for a bit. But when I get back it will be LOTS of pictures with my 2 cameras. Oh yeah I forgot to tell you I bought another small cheap camera so I can take to the bars with me when we party like its 1999!!

Full recap on my return!! **grins** see you all soon!!

**** I emailed this from work when I should really be getting caught up on all my work before I leave for 3 weeks!! WEEHOOO***

One Race down 100 more to go!!

I was up before the birds. AND THE SUN!
This was the finish and you can not see it in the picture but ITS DOWNHILL!
One of the MANY HILLS!!
My Lucky/ugly socks THANKS PATTY
And last but not least this is the ledge I barfed over when I was done. Classy lady I tell you!!

lol So I did it. All 5km of it. It kicked my ass something fierce and if I had read that it WAS ALL FRIGGIN UPHILL!! I may have picked a race that was not so challenging for my first.
But it was awesome and amazing and beautiful at the beach.
So surreal really. There was this other girl I was pacing with (and she was WAY smaller than me and in WAY better shape) that I was cheering on the whole time even though myself I wanted to give up. It was a walk run combination and by the time I was done and go into the car I was saying out loud to myself (thanks Patty) "PWEEHHTT 3 miles, its not REALLY that bad..."

Stupid stuff!!

Its funny. The hubby and I have this thing. NOTHING surprises us anymore.

We have been saving like crazy (well except for the shoe purchases) for our upcoming vacation. I have been working every Saturday so I can bank time so we will not loose any money because I still am not entitled to my vacation because I have to be in my position for 6 months. (when they hired me I told them I had prior commitments and needed 3 weeks off unpaid and they agreed. Even though we are going home for only 2 weeks the extra week is for ME!!)

Anyways 2 days ago I realized my car needs its service and oil change and then some guy tells me my front head light it burnt out. No big deal to change just a pain in the ass.

Then on the way to work this morning the hubby gets a flat! His car is not even 3 months old yet, but it looks like he had run over a bolt so he had to go get that fixed today on his lunch to the tune of $150. Which sucks because it takes away from our drinking money...lol Just kidding. Its just funny this all happens less than a week before we leave for vacation and both have almost 3 weeks off work.

Could it not have waited till we got back????

Just a pain in the ass UGGG

OOIII OOOIIII

Ok that's my excitement all bottled up. Sorry MIA nothing really interesting going on other than LOTS of running (well trying to)

And I have my first race coming up this weekend!! I am so excited! Its only 3 miles and I am going on my own just to see where I am at. It will be a good day and then after the race I have a pedicure and coutchie wax planned! My toes have look good for all my new shoes I will be sporting on my vacation.
I have picked 9 pairs so far that have to go. I mean THEY MUST go. And I have co-coordinated outfits to go with each pair of shoes much to the amusement of the husband as I strutted through the house in each outfit pointing out which shoes were new, what tops were new asking repeatedly " What do you think"
And his response without even looking at me "Cute, but how many outfits do you need?"
And THEN there are all the pretties shoes that I can borrow from Sal that I sent her for her birthday present...lol
WEEHOO This is going to be such a fun and fashionable vacation!~

1 WEEK!!!

I can hardly keep my panties on I am so excited!!! I still have not pulled out the suitcases yet, or started to figure out what the hell I am going to bring/wear/ decide on shoes.
This week is going FAST!! Only because I have so many things to do.

But a week from today we will be home, in Canada probably eating a GREAT dinner my dad is cooking up. Drinking some drinks getting caught up.

WEEHOOO I can not wait!!

Oh and on the work front everyone is starting to stress. With one person leaving the same week I am gone for 3 weeks everyone is finally coming to the realization that they are going to actually have to do some work. Like all day. And I will sit back and relax at some pub or friends house eating good food and having some good conversation!!

3 weeks Random? I thought you were only going home for 2 weeks? Well I am only going to be home for 2 weeks, but when I requested the time off I had requested 3 weeks because my best friend was coming out to visit, but when that did not happen I still decided to take the time off.

WEEHOOO only 4 more work days to go!
