Last night was a funny night at work, 3 people from the office I previously worked in came in for dinner. I could tell by the look from one of them and the "short" conversation that she looked down on me for working in a restaurant. I smiled and laughed about it, I mean I did not come to work here for your FRIGGIN approval, one of the other girls that I was rather close with came in and we talked for over an hour it was great to get caught up. I told her to MAKE SURE she tells my old boss that she ran into me waiting tables so my ex-manager can REALLY feel the sting....lol She even said I looked happier and I agreed that I was.... I mean working back in a restaurant has brought me back to my roots, I am happy where I am, I make more money than I did working for that troll and I work less hours... I actually just turned down a full time position with the state (yes I know crazy) because I am not sure I want to go back to the 9-5..
I am happy at work and its been a long time since I have said that....

Sounds like a great job to me! More money, less hours, who the hell WOULD wanna work in an office? (Not me, that's for sure!) And I bet your arse isn't as big as theirs for sitting down all day!

I am happy for you! I think that is important, I don't think it matters if you clean floors or are CEO, in the end you spend a lot of your waking hours at work and you SHOULD enjoy it. I have known people who are "at the bottom" and so incrediably happy and people who are at the top and miserable, it is all a matter of perspective. I get the impression though you are the type that would find a way to enjoy cleaning toilets with a toothbrush if that was all you could do! Your attitude inspires me!

Whim- thanks, yeah I see it every day, people looking down thier nose at you because you are a server. I mean serious I would like to see you do this and be good at it...lol
