7 pounds baby!! And a rant

Yeah I lost it!

I wish it was more but its a start. 1 month 7 pounds at this rate I will be 90 before I am at my goal weight...lol

On a side note, I am so disappointed in friends right now.

I had something planned. Something big, and I asked for the support of people I "thought" were friends.

Friend 1 (who I asked 3 weeks ago to attend) I can't I have to work.

Me- Well its 3 weeks away, on a Wednesday evening I am SURE you can get it covered.

Friend 1 - I can't I work.

So umm yeah.

Friend 2 YES I am coming I would be happy to be there.

Me YAY!

Friend 2 (texts me this morning after avoiding 4 messages about the event) I just got a HUGE tax bill for my car I can't come.

Me -Serious? What does a tax bill for your car have to do with supporting me this evening, if you did not want to go that is all that you had to say. We are all adults here and I totally understand but there is no reason to avoid me....

Friend 2- No response.

Frustrated yes I am. But I will get over it. The thing that hurts is if either of these "friends" asked me to be there for them I would be in a heart beat. For instance, this past weekend it was friend #1 birthday bash. I attended BOTH evenings events and so did the husband. Which was HUGE for him. And she can not even attend one thing for me for an hour?

Does this happen to anyone else? Or just me?

I hate to be negative Nancy but in my experience it seems the more I put myself out there the more I care about people and let them in, the more I am disappointed?

I'd be upset. You should be able to count on your friends. Oh and it's not ONLY seven pounts it's SEVEN POUNDS! That's great.

7 pounds is great! You are supposed to loose it slowly. I've lost 9 in 5 weeks. But now I have a cold so I can't really work out (I almost passed out Monday night.)

Do these "friends" have kids? I've noticed most of my "friends" with kids have turned into total lame asses. If/when we have kids, I'm sure I'll want to get out of the house once in awhile.

First of all that's GREAT about the pounds coming off! 7 is A LOT!

And friends...well sometimes you just have to learn that people only care about themselves and when to cut your loss.

7 pound in a month is SPOT ON! If you keep that up, you can lose 84lb in a year, and I bet you don't need to lose that much!

Yeah, I've had that with friends. Understand how you feel. I'm sure you have others that will show, and they are your true friend.

7 pounds is an awesome accomplishment! Don't worry about how much you have to lose. The important thing is that you are taking the right steps! Take it day by day and you'll get there before you know it! I'm in the battle too. Sorry about your friends. I have a hard time with girlfriends so I feel ya. Don't take it personal and keep your chin up. If it's a consistant thing I'd kick em to the curb! Keep smiling!
