What a tangled web we weave..

Do you have those friends in your life that have SO MUCH drama it makes you sick.

But you feel sort of like you need to save this person from themselves?

I did a horrible thing today. And I need to vent a little. I hurt someone I care about. But it was not malicious or hurtful it was the truth.

It was a truth that was not my place to tell and I told.

A friend of mine cheated on her boyfriend. 5 times. (I know CRAZY) and by cheating I am not suggesting a little "kissing" or "flirting" it was full on cheating.

See, she lost her phone on Friday. And she used mine to call her boyfriend who is 2000 miles away in Texas on training for 2 months. He sent me a text today asking if she she is being a good girl.

Umm I ignored it for a long time. But he was very persistent.

So I told him he needed to talk to her about it and be honest. Neither of them are really ready for a relationship...

And it all went downhill from there, I never said for sure that she did, I just suggested around the bush a little bit.

And he was of coarse a boy about it. He went off (keeping in mind this was all done through text) and said some horrible things about her and also what he had done.

I went to talk to her. To say sorry and show her all the texts and to apologize for getting involved because its not my place to say who or what is good for her. Or to tel him about her cheating ways.

She may or may not forgive me. Its the truth and I can not lie. If she really wanted to be in a relationship then she needs to stop sleeping around and commit to the relationship and I told her this too. He is going to find out anyways. The guy she slept with last night WORKS IN THE SAME UNIT (military) and they all know each other...

I grew out of this crap a long time ago...... What are your thoughts??

Wow! And I thought that I had drama in my life.

Well it's not very cool of a friend to ask you to lie for them. ((hug)) I really don't know what else to say other than good luck.

You did the right thing...notin worse than getting involved in that sort of stuff. She shouldn't put you in that position in the first place.

And about time drama happening to someone else other than YOU for the shittiest week ever...just catching up!!!

I have to disagree with Trixie, I don't think you did the right thing here.

I probably would have done the same thing. I mean he did ask after all it is not like you just offered up the information just because you wanted to hurt someone.

Gerben- And she told him it was all I lie

Trixie- Its crazy that I even bothered

Punk Rock Mom- I don't think so either, I should have stayed out of it completely...It was not my place to tell... although I did not say for "sure"

Whim- It was a hard thing to do, and now its all done and I can not do anything about it

Hmmm...well, the only thing I would have done be up front and honest with your friends from the get-go.
You and I, I think, sound very similar in this way. I try not to judge the friends I have that behave in the same manner. We all have our shortcomings and faults. However, I do tell them, up front, to never use me as a cover or put me in the position of having to tell the truth. In other words, you can lie to whomever you want, as much as you want and I will never offer up the information, but if they 'directly' ask me...I will not lie. I don't lie for me, why would I lie for others?! lol. If that's a deal-breaker for our friendship from the get-go, then I understand and they're better off without me. lol...but they have to know that they're the one running the risk, not me.
Now, stop kicking yourself.
And I'll take it one step further...if she told him it was a lie, when clearly you have nothing to gain from lying about such a thing...and he believes her...she's not hurting him anymore, he's hurting himself by putting on his blinders. JMHO.
