Notice the sign on the bar behind me? Yeah...... I have NO IDEA how I ended up on the bar?? On top of the bar? I mean I would be lying if I said this was the first bar I stood on... And lets face it I am a pretty wild gal so I doubt it will be that last one either... Thank goodness they warn you first!

80 mile an hour winds!

We have been having some really bad weather lately.

Its TORNADO season here in Kansas. Which until the other night when the apt felt like it was about to be swept up in a tornado, I never really "felt" any danger.

I was about 2 seconds away from dragging my mattress and the dog into the bathtub. Daisy would have peed on me for sure.




Oh and as I finished this post ANOTHER tornado warning is flashing across the TV.

Drunk blogging

Whoops.

The hubby is out of town. And one of my good friends is in town so we "hit the town" for a few drinks.

And by few I mean the drinks were $2. And all 5 of us spent $20. So needless to say I should not be bloggin right now.

But I am going to. Because I have to, but its all going to be bullet points.

* I wonder if my husband will ever know the extent of my love. He has been gone less than 24 hours and I already miss him like crazy. I have ALWAYS been really independent, and I would like to think I still am. But when you have a lover to sleep with every night and then he is not here. It hurts a little. And I wonder if he will ever know how much I love him?

* A friend is going through a really tough time right now (hence the drinks) but I wish I could help give her the strength to walk away. He said he is with someone else, or is "interested and starting a realaionship with someone else. Its time to move on. As harse as that is for you. Its his way of letting you down nicely. I do understand you have a child together, but holding that child as "a negotiation piece" is not going ot make him want to be with you any more? Period.

* I hate to be drunk. Well thats a lie...lol... I just hate the morning after. My car is sitting safely (hopefully) in a parking lot that I will have to pick up in the morning. Yep 1 drink is too many for me to get behind the wheel. Call me "square" if you want but nothing is worth getting a DUI and being deported......

* I love my hubby.

* Some guy told me I was a "dude" tonight, he was hitting on my friend that is "newly"sinjgle but dealing with baby daddy drama and said i was a dude. He said I was too "not a girl" and made him really scared but that my husband was a lucky guy.
I think I am proud of that. I chalked it up to my 3 brothers rubbing bubble gum in my hair. But I am proud to say I will never say anything about you That I would not say to your face. anD i WILl NOT FOR ANY reason blow sunshine up your ass. That is just not me (lol I asked him why he was wearing A RUB ON TATTOO on his arm.) I mean really? really?

* I have some fabulous shoes. And I got no less than 3 comments on my shoes tonight

* l Love my doggie, she is so friggin cute. I just want to kiss her all the time. I have NO IDEA what we used to do without her. 2 1/2 years we have had her and I still love coming home to her. Regardless of if we are gone 5 minutes or 5 hours she is always so excited to see us.

* we hav enew neighbors, downstairs, they moved in today, i think they have 3 kids, in a 2 bedroom apt. I can hear the kids screaming already, this shoudl be interesting.

* I am not going to spell check

* I just flossed my teeth (not a good idea when you have been drinking) an dI bet they will still be hurtin gin the morning.

Fabulous Fridays!!

So I am not sure if any of you think of this. Being I have shoe brain when I find a FABULOUS pair of shoes I ALWAYS dream of the perfect outfit to wear them with.

And being that not all of my shoes are "normal" run of the mill shoes this takes some great calculations and skills!!

See these babies. Yeah black heal, fades to blue then green? The first time I wore these, I wore black capris and a white top. I received about a million compliments on these babies (could be because I was at an all girls function with 20 ladies?)


WELL I FOUND A MATCHING DRESS!!! How cool is that.


So I think I am going to do this post every Friday. One pair of Fabulous shoes with the fabulous outfit to match. I sure do love me some fashion!

Beyond frustrated!!

So you know that "new job" I got at a chain restaurant.

I quit today.

Yep, they are SO unorganized that after 40 hours (which is WAY excessive for a server position) they still have me in training. **did I mention I have been doing this 20 years too?**

And its not like its a High Class 5 star restaurant. Think the cheapest chain restaurant, greasy spoon and that's where it was.

After 3 weeks.

And the owner is a LOSER!! Upon being hired I told them I could only work days, so I could change my other job around to evenings only. Well now all of a sudden after 3 weeks he is trying to tell me he needs me for nights.

Really? After 3 weeks? He also asked me to come in this morning to "discuss this" because even though we have spoken 2 weeks ago about my schedule he had no problems then?

AND THEN HE DOES NOT EVEN SHOW UP???

Jackass.

Its their loss, I left my hours and told them to call me when I can get my check.

Do you ever have that feeling?

When you are somewhere and it just feels like you belong? Like you ended up in the place so that you can make the next steps?

Well I was at a function this weekend at a retirement community and I had the weirdest feeling come over me. The moment that this feeling came over me a volunteer coordinator walked right past me.

So long story short I have a new volunteer position at a beautiful retirement community!! I am SO excited. The facility is beautiful. Everyone that works there seems really nice, so I will be volunteering on Mondays. And the best news is I get to do whatever I want. Paint toes, read books, play games.

And in the process of telling my new volunteer coordinator that I was SO EXCITED to get started a lady from The American Heart Association overheard me and asked if I ALSO wanted to volunteer with them?? She said I was very out going and friendly and I would be a great asset to their team too!! They do a bunch of fun events to educate women about heart health and basically they provide all the training and I pick which events I want to do!!

I am SO EXCITED!!! 2 new volunteer positions. In 1 day!

I hope it brings her as many blessings..

So remember the story about me giving away my wedding dress?

Well the day has come. And it was just as beautiful the second time around!! Hubby and I waiting for the ceremony to start.



Here comes the beautiful bride!! In my dress!! I was so elated and emotional to see it being worn again! After 6 years it was still timeless!


The new husband and wife.... And he LOVED the dress he told her it was made for her and was so beautiful!

The bride and her mom. Her mom when she figured out I was the one who donated the dress grabbed me in the biggest bear hug and whispered in my ear that "You will never know what a blessing it was to have me give L my dress, and thank you from the bottom of my heart!"

L asked how she could ever repay me for just giving her my dress.

And I told her "A day will come when you can do something for someone else. Something selfless that they can not do for themselves. And then you will help them and thats all the payment I will ever need"



And I believe she will.

The happiest day of my life...

Pedicure on a budget!

I love being a girl. Part of that love is having cute feet and being able to indulge on pedicures. I think nothing makes me feel better than a good pedicure...

But seeing how I am on a budget I can not warrant spending $30 on my feet right now...



I did it myself!! Its takes way longer than at a salon but seeing how most of us ladies have all the stuff we need in our own bathrooms already. I sat in front of the TV watched "Say yes to the dress" and did my toes.


Voila!! I think I may have even done a better job than the salon too!

Making ends meet.

Just barely. The hubby and I have lots of travel plans for this summer. And because I still have not been able to find a "big girl" job since the move I am waiting tables.

At 2 different restaurants.

Yep, buckled and got a second job. And I feel so blessed at this point, although I am SO TIRED and I will be woking ALL THE TIME, I am excited to be able to maybe get some money in the bank.

See when I do not work. I do not get paid. And we are taking 2 weeks off in August to go home to Canada and we have nothing saved.

So the next 2 months I will be working breakfasts (early morning at 6am) Full time for a popular breakfast place.

And dinners at a popular dinner place.

Burning it at both ends..... But I am thankful that I am able to work : )

The new little man in my life!!

My best friend in the whole world had this beautiful baby boy. I have never held him but I already know I love him!! And she has asked me to be his GODMOTHER!!! And I could not be more happy of excited about this honor!!

I have a confession!!

I miss my Tivo

Like HUGE.

I am ADDICTED to reality TV. There I said it out loud. I LOVE it. There is just something about it. And its REALLY hard to keep up without it.

The hubby teases me all the time that "its fake, and its GARBAGE" but I love it. Its like a train wreck. You just want to look away but you can't?

My favs are

The Hills (untill Lauren leaves and then I am not to sure I will watch it..)

ANY wedding show (Bridezillas, Who's wedding is it anyways, Say yes to the dress)

The house shows that declutter peoples homes.

Yeah the list is LONG.... Anyone else have any reality TV confessions they would like to make?

Smart cars...

Wow I think they are so cute... but SO SMALL, I am not sure I would feel so safe in one of these...

So I figure 4 months is enought time?

So these DVDs and mirror have been sitting in front of the fireplace since we unpacked.. Because the mirror was so heaving I had been waiting for the hubby to put it up but after 4 months I took matters into my own hands...




I am not even going to tell you how many tries it took me to get it onto the wall (the mirror is about 40 pounds) and I had to HOLD IT OVER MY HEAD!

But its done...


And I am pretty damn proud of myself!

I HATE insurance companies!!

**Now before I start this rant I must say I am VERY blessed to actually have insurance (albeit a TERRIBLE company) I still have it**

I get a call last week from my new Dr. She said I have to come into her office to discuss my migraines and something about the insurance company.

Well turn out ASSHAT insurance company DECLINED paying for my prescriptions for my medication for my migraines because they claim its a "Pre-existing condition"

Well dumb asses of coarse its a PRE-EXISTING condition!!! I have also ALWAYS (since I was 14) taken birth control too to CONTROL my headaches but you have NO PROBLEMS paying for that?? (because a baby would cost them LOTS of money)

So the Dr had to fill out 101 forms and stuff so that the insurance will cover my medication.

Its really disheartening to have to deal with this. I am glad my Dr is a trouper and says this happens ALL THE TIME with insurance companies which just really boggles my mind.

Oh and I have a MAJOR sinus infection. So I am barfing my face off, fever, oh yeah a great day! And I am on antibiotics for the next 10 days.

Memorial Day - For those who have gone before us

My drive to work for the last week has been donned with American flags. Its about 3 miles of American flags lining the way to work.

And it got me to thinking....



I stopped and bought a bunch of flowers.


And I stopped at the local cemetery and decorated graves that did not have flowers. And I said a little prayer for each person I left flowers for. It was a lot more emotional than I thought it would be. On the entrance to the cemetery they were giving out American flags if you were stopping at a grave of a Veteran. I ran inside to get a list of which graves were veterans because I was looking for graves of Veterans that had not been yet visited.



I left with a sense of clarity and calmness, I thanked them all for their service and sacrifice.

It so weird because I do not know what made me get this idea in my head. But it was good idea...

It will be my new Memorial day tradition.

I remember taking this picture at Arlington National Cemetery while choking back tears.... It humbles me all the lives sacrificed for this country.


Today we all remember.

A day at the dog park....

Well its technically not the dog park. Its the soccer park right beside the dog park that I take her too... She loves to chase the birds but because it was so hot today there were no birds. She just runs around stupid. I have tried to take her into the dog park but she has gotten so bad with other dogs. So I just keep it simple and watch her run and play and explore.


Its important to stay hydrated. And yes she is drinking from my water bottle. In fact she will paw at it if she gets thirsty! She is one of the smartest dogs I know!


Deciding which way to run!


I Love lazy Saturdays. We stayed out for about an hour and a half, I read my book while she ran around. When we got home she knew it was bath time (always after the park) and she hid under the bed from me. Yep. Smart dog. She is so getting a bath tomorrow.

Thinking of getting a new job...

**big sigh**

A sign of the times I guess. I am not making NEARLY as much as I was at the restaurant anymore because of the economy so I am branching out and applying for other jobs.

The gas station down the street is hiring and its close to home so I go in tomorrow to see if they think I am as fabulous as I am. But then do I really want to work at a gas station? But its only for a second job and its part time..

I figure I am going to apply to more jobs in the area. I am really not looking forward to making minimum wage $7.50 and hour!!

I am working HARD at my Arbonne business and so far I am going to have a REALLY busy June which I am really excited about. But its tough work building a buisness. Its a lot of fun and I am FINALLY seeing results. (I say finally likes its been YEARS but its only been a month..lol) so impatient!

So that is where I am at. Uggg

GREAT customer service..

Remember this quick summary for those just tuning in.

My car got broken into 1 week before we were moving 900 miles. We bought a new car 3 days before the big move.

Well I received a letter this month from the State of Wyoming about paying sales tax.

Sales tax we paid here in Kansas (to the tune of $983 with registration)

Well turns out we ARE REQUIRED BY LAW to pay the state tax in the state we purchased the car in. Wyoming and Missori are the only states in the 50 states that REQUIRE BY LAW for sales tax to be paid in their states (all other states it does not matter as long as it gets paid somewhere)

So umm that $983 we paid in Kansas.

Yep we owe Wyoming $500...

AND there is a slim chance we may or may not get a refund from Kansas because Wyoming is stupid.

But the good news and what this whole post was about was I called the Kia dealership we purchased the car from, they did ALL the leg work to figure out what had to be done AND THEN THEY PAID 1/2 of what we owed to Wyoming!!

Wow. Just wow! Of coarse they asked if we do get a refund from Kansas to reimburse them but if not they are sorry about the inconvenience...

How cool is that? I would even go back to Wyoming Kia to purchase a new car just because of that....

Oh yeah. In 5 days. Really I am SO EXCITED!!!

It is not ok!!! Version #1

* To snap your fingers at a waiter

* To WAVE your hand in the air frantically (unless you are DYING and even then I am still not sure)

* To put gum under the table

* To tip less than %10 FOR WHATEVER REASON! I tip a MIN of %20. Just because. Did you know servers only make $2.13 hour. Yep and the NEVER see any of it because it all goes to taxes. We pay taxes on %10 of our sales if you tip us or not. And if you do not tip a min of %10 IT COST US MONEY TO SERVE YOU!!

* To not look up when we come to the table, and before we introduce ourselves to BARK out what you will have to drink.

* To be rude and an asshole because you assume we can not get another job. The majority of the people at my restaurant have degrees. And we CHOOSE to work there because we either like it. Or for the money.

* To SIT AT OUT TABLE FOR 3 HOURS AFTER LEAVING A $1.50 tip. If I was alowed I would ASK YOUR ASS TO LEAVE, because with you sitting there there is no way I can get another table "company policy"

* To go out to eat AFTER 9pm. Because we hate you. Yes we smile and dream about doing something to your food (we never would) but REALLY coming in just before we lock the door and 5 people have to stay because of your dumb ass.

Operation clean the closet!!

So its safe to say the closet has gotten away from me...


So I am a bit of a pack rat. When it comes to clothes and shoes... Well I finally decided to dig myself out of the closet! I contacted our local Hope House a womens shelter that helps battered women & children to see if they needed donations of womens clothing. And it turns out they did not need them so my donations are off to The Salvation Army.


Voila!! The finished product!




All the access hangers!! And I am going to have to go back through again in 2 weeks when I am down 10 pounds and continuously each week while I am the shrinking women!. The diet is GUARANTEED (if you follow it properly of coarse) and I am already down 4 pounds!! In 2 days!!


Ohh and you must run out and buy one of these nifty things.. I got it a Bath Bed & Beyond. It 2 bands with little hooks on it that hold up to 16 purses so you can display them all nicely instead of hiding them in totes.


So now that I am losing weight I am hoping to have to purchase a whole new wardrobe by July!! I am so excited.. The husband not so much because now I will have an excuse to shop.... Everything will be hanging off of me.

The season of baby showers!

This was the diaper cake at our managers baby shower. It was at 8am this morning before the restaurant opened. It was fun.. she got a lot of loot!! She received everything she needed...

I love pot lucks!! Or as you Americans call it "Carry in's"

So the diet starts today in full force.

Well because when you have a carry in at work, and you work at a restaurant that 1/2 the staff are chefs.. there is NO WAY I could fight that will power!!.. For mothers day because its the busiest day of the year and EVERYONE works all day no matter what and NO ONE is aloud to order food due to the volume the kitchen is already dealing with....

So this was my creation

Honesty is NOT the best policy!

So once again being honest has bit me in the ass.

At work tonight I made a mistake and gave the wrong bill to the wrong table.

And the JACK ASSES (because the bill was obviously WAY lower than what they ordered) paid the wrong bill without saying anything AND SNUCK OUT!! (which is why I am calling them JACKASSES!)

Anyways when I realize my error I tell a manager and groan about having it come out of my tips.

Well seeing how I said something to the manager and company policy is a server can NEVER pay out of their own pockets for an error.

I get written up.

I feel like I am friggin 12 years old. I mean really..

40 pounds in 8 weeks!!

A friend of mine did this AMAZING diet and she lost 35 pounds in 6 weeks. She paid over $5000 to get her paws on this diet, and support. (The initial consultation is $700)

And I am SO GRATEFUL she is sharing it with me!! Its no big deal really, nothing that I can not really do.

I am sitting here eating my last peanut butter and banana sandwich for the next 8 weeks. I am SO EXCITED ABOUT THIS DIET!!! She gave me everything I need, all the list of stuff to buy. All vegetables that are off limits I am starting tomorrow!!

So you will all being seeing all my grossness in the flesh!! Yep before and after pictures!!

I am on day 4 of the 7 day detox and all is well. I feel WAY better, and I am a lot cleaner.. ha ha.. at least my intestines and bowel are clean!! It was not as bad as I thought it would be. There was only one moment in 4 days that I was like "WHOA, I need a bathroom" But other than that pretty darn cool.

3 pounds in 4 days NOT BAD!! But its 3 pound of gunk.. ewww..

Now that was not SO bad!!

I.HATE.GOING.TO.THE.DR.

Especially new dr's. And especially for the "well women exam"

I have avoided it for 3 years. Actually ran screaming from it for 3 years. Last time they found a lump in my breast and I refused the exam.

Seeing how many cancers run in my family I bit the bullet.

Well it was more that I was running out of my "stock" of prescription drugs and needed new prescriptions that prompted my search for a new family Dr.

AND I LOVE HER!! I really do, and her nurse is supper nice as well.

The thing I hate about going to new dr's is that you have to explain EVERYTHING, and the whole breaking my neck thing (I brought my xrays) and how I over came that. And my family history which practically takes an hour in itself.

But WEEHOOO done for another year!! And I will not be so scared next time. Although she found my lump again and is sending me for a mamagram (which I should be getting every year anyways) I am good for a year!!

So I guess I missed this fashion tip!

I WISH I would have gotten a picture of this whole outfit. She is wearing a MANS shirt as a dress, no belt or anything, and moccasins. Oh and I forgot t mention the "dress" was see through and she was wearing a black boy short and black lace bra under it.

Is it just me or is this strange? I mean I get the whole "gladiator" sandal thing going on right now that I really hate.

But are moccasins really making a come back?? I mean were they ever cool? And its 80 degrees today???

The best customers all day!

So I have worked in restaurants over 20 years. I have a love hate relationship with it.

I love it for the customer aspect of it, I LOVE working with people.

I hate it for "certain" customers. They may me wonder some times how people make it through each day being SO horrible.

It all evens out, and more often than not we have more nice customers than mean customers.

At the restaurant I work at we have this one couple that comes in every week. EVERYONE that works there knows who they are. There bill is always about $80 - $100 and the reason everyone knows who they are is

THEY ALWAYS TIP 100%

So last night the hubby and I went out for dinner. It was not an $80 dinner by any means but I remember the one time I got the %100 tippers, so we left %100 tip. I explained to the hubby that we just made this girls night. We snuck out before she looked at it and I ran to the rest room, when I came back I saw our waitress and all her co-workers giving high fives, and she did a little cheerleading move.

That alone was worth it.

And we feel FABULOUS about it!

Interesting phone call!

The manager from The incident at The Cheesecake Factory called me to "apologize" for us having such a horrible dinning experience. (ok so I may have sent a little email when we got home)

He says that they have taken care of the situation promptly at 6am this morning and had contractors come in to clean all the gum off from under the tables. This has also been discussed in detail with all the managers and "gum removal will be added to daily side work"

He apologized that this was an over site on their behalf because cleanliness blah, blah, blah. He went on for some time.

Its still gross and disgusting that this happened. I had also added the restrooms to my email because they were pretty gross and disgusting too. And he says they pulled the log for that day because restrooms are to be cleaned every 15 minutes and it was not complete and he was very sorry blah, blah.

So he is sending us something in the mail "to make up" for the over site on the restaurants behalf and would like us to come back ,and when we do to call ahead so he can make sure we have the best server and service the cheesecake factory has to offer.

Umm some how for me this is not going to do it? I mean I will certainly use my gift card, or whatever he is sending but you have to know the first thing I am going to do is look under the table!!

I need some help y'all!!

So once again I am going to try to lose some weight.

This time though failure is not an option.

So I am taking all suggestions. What works for you. What did not work. What was fun to try???

I am thinking this will be a 7 day a week mission. I need to lost AT LEAST 30 (my last 30 I am aiming for 40 but will go with 30)

So GROSS!!

SO the hubby and I had date day today.. It was a lot of fun. To start the day we went to see that new movie "Fighting"

TERRIBLE MOVIE!! And that is being REALLY forgiving. It was bad. Even with hot men with riped bodies it was so bad. I spent half the movie laughing out loud at the terrible acting and silly plot. I am usually not picky about movies.

This one was B.A.D.

The hubby decided I needed my tires rotated and oil changed (get your head outta the gutters) so we dropped off the car and headed to The Cheesecake Factory. One of my favorite places to eat. I think its more for the Cheesecake then anything.

So we are eating lunch and I go to move my napkin up to my mouth and ITS STUCK!! ITS STUCK TO ALL THE GUM THAT WAS UNDER THE TABLE!!!

EWWWW so gross!!! I tried to take a picture for y'all so you could see all the grossness that I am speaking of. It was disgusting!! BARF!

Yes this is how I pack.. A little messy now that I look at the picture and I am proud to say that I only brought 7 pairs of shoes. For 4 days. I am SO getting better at this!!
