Stuff going on in Random Land

I never though it would be so hard to give away free stuff of the 15 entries in the giveaway who I announced EVERYONE won I only received 2 emails for prizes? OK ladies you have 48 hours to email me your address!! FREE STUFF!! Serious...

Weird no?

I start a new job tomorrow and I am SUPER excited! Its another restaurant job but its a HUGE change from where I have been working. Its RIGHT downtown San Francisco and I get to wear jeans!!

I have mixed emotions though, I have been at my current restaurant job almost 3 years. In those 3 years I have worked in 3 different states and the company is amazing. For any server to stay at one place for 3 years speaks volumes of the company. I just think I am a little burnt out with it. I am hoping this new job will give me the change I need to continue to stay at my current place which I will be going down to part time.

Went and saw Hereafter.. The MOST HORRIBLE movie I have seen in a long time.

We saw Paranormal Activity 2 and it was ok? I mean I like how they tied the 2 movies together but it was nothing fabulous...

Hanging up my apron strings

I think I may give up being a waitress

For good.

I have done it for almost 20 plus years off and on but I think I am done. I LOVE the job, the people (most of the time) but its time.

So fingers crossed I find something great in San Francisco!

I think I want to be a nanny. Seeing how we are not having kids I think it would be so much fun to help raise someone elses?

Does that sound weird?

It would be the best of both worlds, I LOVE kids, LOVE them and I could take care of them all day and then go home to the hubby and Daisy (truly our baby).

Well I am looking at a few options and I just hope I can find something I LOVE!

23 days till the big move!!! I am so excited!!

What would you do?

Ok so I am asking y'all to weigh in...

I think we have made the decision but its "still in the air" a little.

The hubby flew out to interview in San Fransisco a couple of weeks ago (its a lateral transfer with his company).

Can we say "HELLS YES"

He has not liked it here since we got her. Neither have I to be honest but I can just about move anywhere and be fine.

Well after careful consideration he is thinking of declining the job.

Yep, saying no. Just like that.

It sucks because it would be AMAZING to be living near his family again, and although its a HUGE raise the cost of living in San Fran would just be insane.

See we would like to buy a house before we are 90.

So playing devils advocate while we wait to see if he gets the offer, we went out house hunting, and found OUR DREAM HOME! For $154,000.00.

Yeah the same square footage and lot in California $750,000. Not to mention if we did find a house we could afford he would be commuting only about 60 miles TO AND FROM work.

120 miles a day. IN CALIFORNIA traffic.

And then we would be living almost paycheck to paycheck. Rent alone is $2000 a month to be near his job. That's nuts. And everything else is WAY MORE expensive in California.

What would you do?

Move or set down roots?

I am excited for whatever the future holds for us!! Lets get this show on the road!

Beyond frustrated!!

So you know that "new job" I got at a chain restaurant.

I quit today.

Yep, they are SO unorganized that after 40 hours (which is WAY excessive for a server position) they still have me in training. **did I mention I have been doing this 20 years too?**

And its not like its a High Class 5 star restaurant. Think the cheapest chain restaurant, greasy spoon and that's where it was.

After 3 weeks.

And the owner is a LOSER!! Upon being hired I told them I could only work days, so I could change my other job around to evenings only. Well now all of a sudden after 3 weeks he is trying to tell me he needs me for nights.

Really? After 3 weeks? He also asked me to come in this morning to "discuss this" because even though we have spoken 2 weeks ago about my schedule he had no problems then?

AND THEN HE DOES NOT EVEN SHOW UP???

Jackass.

Its their loss, I left my hours and told them to call me when I can get my check.

Making ends meet.

Just barely. The hubby and I have lots of travel plans for this summer. And because I still have not been able to find a "big girl" job since the move I am waiting tables.

At 2 different restaurants.

Yep, buckled and got a second job. And I feel so blessed at this point, although I am SO TIRED and I will be woking ALL THE TIME, I am excited to be able to maybe get some money in the bank.

See when I do not work. I do not get paid. And we are taking 2 weeks off in August to go home to Canada and we have nothing saved.

So the next 2 months I will be working breakfasts (early morning at 6am) Full time for a popular breakfast place.

And dinners at a popular dinner place.

Burning it at both ends..... But I am thankful that I am able to work : )

Thinking of getting a new job...

**big sigh**

A sign of the times I guess. I am not making NEARLY as much as I was at the restaurant anymore because of the economy so I am branching out and applying for other jobs.

The gas station down the street is hiring and its close to home so I go in tomorrow to see if they think I am as fabulous as I am. But then do I really want to work at a gas station? But its only for a second job and its part time..

I figure I am going to apply to more jobs in the area. I am really not looking forward to making minimum wage $7.50 and hour!!

I am working HARD at my Arbonne business and so far I am going to have a REALLY busy June which I am really excited about. But its tough work building a buisness. Its a lot of fun and I am FINALLY seeing results. (I say finally likes its been YEARS but its only been a month..lol) so impatient!

So that is where I am at. Uggg

All is well in Random land... And shoes!!

I went in yesterday.
WHAT. A. RELIEF.
My manager was really cool about it (as much as she could be "knowing" she was the issue). I also talked to the VP and CEO and thanked them for the opportunity of working for them.
Clean out my desk, said my goodbyes. It went REALLY well.

I still feel sick at the fact that I am unemployed. But I know EVERYTHING happens for a reason, I can always go back to my roots of serving or bar tending which I may do for a while just to get back into the swing of things. ONLY if I do not get an offer next week which I am crossing my fingers that I will. I have a 3 week cusion that I will still get paid so things are looking good.

Things I have learned through all this shit:

1. I can no longer be a "yes man" I have always been at work and this will be a HUGE leap for me but thats how I let it get that bad!!!

2. No job is worth your own sanity. You need to TALK about what's going on, and less worry about not being perfect.

3. I can not please everyone.

4. I will not settle again.

5. I am a KICK ASS employee. I do not need to be told this its proof when the "start" a new position for you to stay with the company. This speaks volumes of my character.

Oh and 3 reasons I need to get a new job soon!
One

Two

Three.. well sort of these are new but not the ones I was going to take a picture of I have a new pair of black ones that are FABULOUS for work

Oh and I am making a new blog but I need a name... Its going to feature all of my shoes. Thats it my pink belly will show and all of my shoes will be on display.... My shoe closet... What should I call it?

Fingers crossed y'all!

So yesterday went well... Really good. But I am not going to get to excited until I get an offer. If y'all could think and send all your good job thoughts my way I would MUCH appreciate it!!
One of the 2 I interviewed for was MY DREAM JOB. Serious there would not be a more perfect job for me. Serious. I am excited about what may be, and I know if it is meant for me it will be!!
Oh and I bought shoes. Currently I have 7 pairs in my car (not all new) I brought 3 pairs with me yesterday because I was unsure of which I would ware to NAIL the interviews...I wore a different pair for each (needed to change it up a bit) and THEN on my way home I HAD TO (was forced) to stop at the DWS because lets face it there is not one closer than an hour and a half to me... And of COARSE I found some that I had to buy!! Oh and they made me cry and do a happy dance!!. NOT ONLY ARE THEY FINALLY GOING ON LINE, BUT THEY ARE ALSO OPENING A NEW STORE THAT IS ONLY 1/2 HOUR FROM ME!
Could the day get any better?? I also told both potential employers that I would need a week off in May for a prior commitment for my girls trip to VEGAS BABY.. and both said it would not be a problem. Call me cocky but that's pretty bold to bring up in a first interview no? In my defense I needed to be honest....and I needed them to know I had a life and was not going to BEG for one day off to go out and visit my husband in DC... ok I digress....
I so need a new job. So I was not in the office yesterday right? Yeah well strange thing I did not have ANY phone messages (WOULD NEVER HAPPEN) and I also spent ALL FRICKING morning working on emails. Well turns out 1/2 way through working on my emails when I called someone it turned out that my manager (WHO NEVER WORKS) had already auctioned most of the items so I spent 4 hours doing shit that had already been done. Bitch could have copied me on the emails or something? No? So frustrated!!

Pics coming soon....

What fun...

So I quit my job and now I am forced to find another.. This is not fun, although I do say I quite enjoy the interview part of it. I have been to an interview and I have had a phone interview and then I got to thinking the company I work for now LOVES me, and I like them too, its a great company to work for. So I am doing a business plan to present on Monday when my manager gets back. I am in the works of completing a job description for my dream job. At the company I work for. Its a leap and I know it, but will all the growth and change that is going on in the company the worst they can say is no. And if they do then I have lost nothing. I have talked to a few of the executives that have given me a hard time about leaving and mentioned my plan and asked them what they thought. 2 of them have offered to train me in the "spots" that I am including in my dream job description. And both have said its a GREAT idea and that the company is in MAJOR need of the position I am proposing... So fingers crossed!!
I am one crazy chick!

Have you ever taken the leap at work? Did it turn out?
