So now that we moved, although I am working at the PT job I need to secure a full time job.
The first week we were here I went to a cattle call.. Well I mean "group interview" and it was made very apparent to me that LOTS of people are looking for work.
I was WAY over qualified. As was most of the people in the room. But I went anyways. And this is going to be an uphill battle.
The hubby has pointed out that its going to be very hard, with the economy being the way it is. And with so many people out of work and looking......
This should be fun. I started a new "ticker" starting today for all the jobs I am applying for.
What is really frustrating about this job search is I am finding LOTS of jobs that look fantastic and I apply only to get hits back from temp agencies. Temp agencies that I have NO INTEREST in going through. I would like to get a full time job on my own. I do not want to "temp".
I have gone to some of the sites and there are "temp to hire" jobs but I still am not interested in investing the time in a job I may be doing for only a week. People look down on temps. Like they can not get real jobs.
So until I HAVE to I will go this alone. I will keep y'all posted at this riveting search...

We have arrived safely in Kansas!!
Sweet internet there you are.... Its amazing how I took the internet for granted. Like I have NEVER gone a day without it, so needless to say the last 5 days without have been CRAZY!!
I am working on our trip recap which went off without a hitch. Other than the hotel from hell that warrants its very own post.
We are here. We have found a beautiful place to live for the next 12 months, hopefully we will find a house sooner than that but they have VERY strict lease agreements here and to break it would cost us over $3000. So umm yeah we have waited 5 years another year will not kill us.
I am starting work tomorrow. My part time job is a HUGE chain and I was able to transfer out here so I have something to start with. I am actively pursuing a full time job but the market right now is really tough. Will so many lay offs all over the place, I have not even heard from 1 job as of yet. I have applied for well over 20 already. I have had about 6 hits back from employment agencies and with my experience I WILL NOT use one again. I had a really bad experience 3 times now so I figure I am better off on my own.
The hubby is trying to keep my spirits up and explain the job market is very different out here than it was in the small town we lived in.
But I will keep my chin up. What is meant to be will be. I am blessed with already having a job that is going to give me all the hours I want, but I would really like to get something back in an office... I have LOTS of shoes to buy!!

So finally I know for sure...
You know how you sometimes just "know"
Well I left another message with the dream job this morning, and how I "knew" was last week when I talked to the hiring manager he said that he had 2 more interviews. I "knew" because when I interviewed 2 weeks earlier he said he had 2 more people that same day. So they had 2 more interviews on top of the 2 they had that day.
Well they went with an internal candidate. It turns out she has been with the company 8 years, but went on to say that had she not been a candidate I would have been the one they would have hired.
So there is my silver lining.... I "almost" got my dream job, but they also said they will keep me in mind for any other openings they have come up.
"Pick the day. Enjoy it - to the hilt. The day as it comes. People as they come... The past, I think, has helped me appreciate the present - and I don't want to spoil any of it by fretting about the future" -Audrey Hepburn

Thanks y'all
So Daisy is doing well.
We have already broken all of the rules. Umm yeah. But the vet said because she is in heat, and shes been there 3 different times before for the "same" issue, the chances she ate a pill was 99.99% that she did not. Even if she did it would not have made her sick seeing how its a drug prescribed to dogs for depression (dogs suffer from depression?)
Anyways she milking it and that's fine with us. We love her and shes cute, she stinks a bit right now but seeing what she went through yesterday I figure the bath can wait...
In other news I am still waiting to hear about my dream job. So far I am 0-5 interviews which has NEVER happened to me, until this time I have ALWAYS got any job that I interviewed for so this is a BIG FRIGGIN pill to swallow. But staying positive and having been through what I have been everything will work itself out.
Life is a learning experience and thank goodness I have the love and support of an amazing husband.

Day 2 of unemployment..
This sucks... Serious I had the weekend off and then yesterday I got to sleep in till 11 which was AWESOME and only being day 2 I should not be fretting too bad, but I am.
I need a job.
So from both jobs that I interviewed for on Wednesday that I "thought" I had rocked did not pan out the way I had panned. Nope. Job #1 called with a lame excuse as to why they went with another candidate. However they did give me props and tell me that if I was ever applying for another job in the same area to call him first and he would contact the panel for me and tell them what a great candidate I would be.
Left message for dream job yesterday and got a call back this morning that they "Have not made any decisions and had 2 more interviews today"
This could be good or bad.
Humm I think I will eat chocolate.
In other great news I FINALLY made it to the gym yesterday... Umm yeah that girl running on the treadmill whose thighs rubbing together are causing a small fire? That was me ***waves to the crowd*** thank goodness there is a fire station across the street!!

Too much?
So I went out shopping today, I needed to get a new suit for my job interviews coming up, well y'all know how I LOVE me some Ross... I scored this baby today for $0.99. Yep ninety nine cents... I even showed the tag to the hubby so he would believe me.....The hubby says its "Too much", Its not an every day wear sort of dress and certainly not for my interviews but for ninety nine cents this puppy will get some play in VEGAS baby....Other than my fat ass arms and this picture making me look pretty gross...

What do you think? Too much? Or the Cats Meow?

UGGG.. Still so undecided!!!
So the plot thickens.
This will be a long one hope you are comfortable....
So they offer me the job. And I took the husbands advice and I accept. I figure its a great company, they obviously value me and well; I really do not want to look for a new job.
I was all excited a memo went out that I would be resuming my new position on Monday, I was finishing up all the stuff that needed to be done (the best that I could) and then I get called into my managers office, with my soon to be new manager.
Its all laid out. Basically my new manager did not have authorization to send out the memo and was "getting ahead of himself" and I was told, although I have been offered the position and they "are excited" that I am staying they need to "work out" the logistics of what it is going to take for me to move into my new role.
Me **blink**blink** I am so fucking mad at this point I can not see.
I smile and say I understand and ask to be excused.. I am flipping mad and I did not want to say anything I would regret. I am not one that is much for conflict and I needed to get my head around what "work out" meant.
So I went to my bosses boss. I know a little shady but I wanted clarification and to make sure I was not completely losing my mind.
Our conversation went well, it was agreed that in fact it was not fair to not have a time frame for this change, I argue the fact that I was LIED to, I was told in no uncertain terms that my position had been filled when I accepted the new position, I also interjected that my last day was supposed to be the 19th but I had agreed to stay on until the 29th at their request. So I gave them 4 weeks to replace me and now they are telling me that I will be doing BOTH jobs during the transition. I agree with my bosses boss that although that will be a HUGE work load (neither job have even REMOTE responsibilities) We are talking Apples and Cucumbers here people.
Anyways we finish up I am given a time frame of about 2 weeks to make the change and I am feeling really good about the whole situation.
Well then.... I get called in to the bosses bosses office with my boss to have a little talk. I can already tell walking in from her body language that this is not going to go well.
Turns out my bosses boss threw me under the buss and re-tracked his previous time frame of 2 weeks. My boss (who's ass would be showing if that was the REAL frame because I do most of her work anyways) she convinced him that due to the nature of what I do, I can not be working both positions because she wanted my sole focus on the job at hand. She also convinced him that although I gave 4 months notice and they still wanted me to take the other position that they had made the executive decision that I would "BE REQUIRED TO STAY IN MY ROLE INDEFINITELY UNTIL I COULD BE REPLACED"
And my position is not one you can just plop someone into, with all the shit coming up I can understand the decision although however unfair that is.
So I ask for clarification on a time frame, the 2 weeks turns in AT LEAST ANOTHER MONTH AND A FUCKING HALF!
So I am pissed. And I feel used and I am frustrated, and I know that if I agree to stay that the month and a half will be longer, and then longer....
And I feel that my back is against the wall and I have no choice but the fuck them back. I am going to smile and do my job and be great at what I do, and interview my ass off for a better opportunity and when it comes along bid them farewell.
Oh and they are not going to give me my raise until I "move" into my new role... Um yeah they want to keep my my fucking ass...

What fun...
So I quit my job and now I am forced to find another.. This is not fun, although I do say I quite enjoy the interview part of it. I have been to an interview and I have had a phone interview and then I got to thinking the company I work for now LOVES me, and I like them too, its a great company to work for. So I am doing a business plan to present on Monday when my manager gets back. I am in the works of completing a job description for my dream job. At the company I work for. Its a leap and I know it, but will all the growth and change that is going on in the company the worst they can say is no. And if they do then I have lost nothing. I have talked to a few of the executives that have given me a hard time about leaving and mentioned my plan and asked them what they thought. 2 of them have offered to train me in the "spots" that I am including in my dream job description. And both have said its a GREAT idea and that the company is in MAJOR need of the position I am proposing... So fingers crossed!!
I am one crazy chick!
Have you ever taken the leap at work? Did it turn out?
