Getting a little down in the dumps!

Work has been sucking the life out of me.

The other night I had an 18 top which 3 servers had to take that walked in at 9:30!!! Friggin people!! They did not even get "settled" till 10pm and thats when we close!

It was such a nightmare! Uggg

Well things could be worse I guess... I could be this lady!

These pictures are HILARIOUS I mean there were LOTS of handicapped parking spaces why "if you needed" the space would you park your car ON A FRIGGIN SNOW BANK?

Really?

Job hunting bites the BIG ONE!!

So now that we moved, although I am working at the PT job I need to secure a full time job.

The first week we were here I went to a cattle call.. Well I mean "group interview" and it was made very apparent to me that LOTS of people are looking for work.

I was WAY over qualified. As was most of the people in the room. But I went anyways. And this is going to be an uphill battle.

The hubby has pointed out that its going to be very hard, with the economy being the way it is. And with so many people out of work and looking......

This should be fun. I started a new "ticker" starting today for all the jobs I am applying for.

What is really frustrating about this job search is I am finding LOTS of jobs that look fantastic and I apply only to get hits back from temp agencies. Temp agencies that I have NO INTEREST in going through. I would like to get a full time job on my own. I do not want to "temp".

I have gone to some of the sites and there are "temp to hire" jobs but I still am not interested in investing the time in a job I may be doing for only a week. People look down on temps. Like they can not get real jobs.

So until I HAVE to I will go this alone. I will keep y'all posted at this riveting search...

So weird being on my feet again all day...

But its good.

Its a nice change. To be honest its a relief really for the next few weeks we are still here before the move to be doing something I love.

The hubby should have a "time frame" tomorrow so fingers crossed!

Busy week.. oh and shoes

The hubby is away for a week in Kentucky and even lost his luggage... which he has back now but I think every traveler has some sort of "mishap" once in a while, and the amount he has traveled in the last year and this is his first "mishap" he is doing pretty good.

While he is away I am working my but off at the gym and at work. I work both jobs every day this week.. A little crazy I am sure but it sure beats sitting on the couch eating bon bons,

It also allows me to buy these without feeling the least bit guilty!! Well with a $14 price tag I mean I HAD TO HAVE THEM... And they are purple so it sealed the deal.

My regular full time job has been a bit of a drag lately.. Now that I know we are moving its hard to keep my heart in the game...

I have no filter..

So umm yeah. If I do not like you, you would know.

For instance I worked the PT job tonight at the restaurant, and I am not saying I am a super star server or anything but I can certainly hold my own.

Well they hired this new guy. He is old. And he is HORRIBLE! For the last 3 shifts I have worked with him I have been "required" to pick up one of his tables.

Tonight one of his tables sat there for 15 minutes!! When I finally (they were eyeballing me) went over to get their orders and to throw in a little jab "How long have you been waiting?"

10 minutes people!! That is not acceptable, so I approach said server and inquire..

"Are you going to talk to table 37?"

""Umm yeah I am going there right now"

"Well don't worry about it, I already served them their drinks, salads, and their appetizer should be out in a minute"

**blank stare from horrible server*** ***Blink**** Blink****

AND THEN HE HAS THE NERVE TO GET MAD AT ME!!!

Dude serious, if I have had time to

a) Get their drink order
b) Bring their drinks
c) Get their food orders
d) Serve their salads
e) Order their food

So I told him as much and he was PISSED. I have to add that I took get pleasure in watching him squirm (you knew it had to be a guy, too proud to ask for help)

And then he yells out "I AM A BETTER SERVER THAN YOU EVER WILL BE"

Which much giggling ensued on my part, as well as anyone else listening....

I did what any other self respecting adult would do and asked him

"Would you like a tissue? Are you going to be ok?"

Good things in Random land

One thing I can tell you about and the other you will need to wait for.

Well today was my day off and I decided to go shopping, well with the impending girls trip to Vegas and California and the fact that I have lost some weight and had no "real" summer stuff I ventured out to spend the day by myself shopping.

It was BEAUTIFUL out and sunny and a balmy 78 degrees hot enough to put the top down but seeing how my ass/body has not seen sun in MONTHS I voted not to put the top down seeing how I would have burnt to a crisp!

Anyways busy shopping and work calls. Usually on my days off and being that I was 40 miles from home I actually picked up the call. Turns out the general manager thinks I am awesome.
How do I know this? Well they asked me if I would "play manager" for them a couple nights a week in stead of serving. WOW, WOW, WOW. I am not being promoted to manager or anything they just think I am so fabulous and I have such a great attitude (***snickers***) when I come into work that they (ALL 4 of them) thought it would be a great fit for me.
See they want me to "work the room" so to speak a couple nights a week to promote outstanding service and to give coaching feedback.

TOTALLY up my ally. And I am stoked. How cool is that??

The other news you have to wait for. Yep because I am cruel like that, hopefully it will be BETTER news than above.

And I got this in an email today... tee hee

Busy, Busy, Busy!!

I got another job. I did what I said I was going to do and I went back to my roots. I am really excited about it too. I am working at a GREAT restaurant and the people I work with are really laid back and almost already feel like family. I have also still been working my Part-time gig so I have had barely time to do laundry and check email. It feels good to be back in the zone.

You know how I always say everything happens for a reason. I had NEVER read this until today, it really makes sense to me now...

Lube, vibrators and sex toys oh my!!

So one of the ladies I work with invited me to a Passion Party. Having been to a few before I thought it would be a hoot. And it was. It was so much fun.
I am also having thoughts of doing these parties part time. I mean how much fun would that be??
For those that have never been to a Passion Party the title is just as it seems. Its a group of people, usually women, sometimes men and women that get together have some wine and pass around sex toys for sale. Well there are also lotions, cock rings, crotchless panties and MUCH MUCH more.
I laughed so hard last night I was crying.

So I am going to meet the team leader on Monday to find out about the business and to see if I am going to become a Passion Consultant. Its actually the fastest growing self employment job in the US today... She does it full time (well if you figure 6 shows a month a FULL TIME JOB) and she clears $7000 a month more on some other months.

Not to mention the perks...lol And yes I brought some of those home last night too.. No wonder this lady makes a fortune...

I have been SUPER busy!

I worked 24 hours at the PT job this week which is not my usual but I covered it and the following schedules I am only on 12 hours which I could live with.

Question for you all....

At the PT job I watched this little boy probably 7-9 (not sure because I am not so great with ages) steal a pack of gum. When him and his mom came up to the register I asked him if he was going to pay for the pack of gum he put in his pocket? He looked at me with tears in his eye's and whispered to his mom "Should we tell her?" And the mother just looked at me and said "My child would never steal anything!"
So I respond and at the time I did my manager came around the corner "Well I am sorry Mame I watched your son who would never steal put a pack of gum in his pocket would you like me to add it to your order or would you like him to put it back?"
My manager pinches me from behind and I know I am stepping over the boundaries of "good customer service"

She looks me straight in the eye reaches in the kids pocket only to pull out the pack of gum in question and state "We bought this at another store" Kid is in tears, mom is lying out her ass about it IN FRONT OF HER FUCKING CHILDREN!! It is clear its from our store with price attached and everything.

AND I HAD TO LET HER GO!!!

Would you knowingly let you child steal and cover for them??

I love me some ROSS!!

The new pretties..... You can not tell really that great in this picture but they are purple... and oh so pretty....

So I worked at the PT job again tonight and you would not BELIEVE who sought me out the moment I walked into the store. I was cordial and said "hi" and as he stood in front of me looking like he was about to unload again I started to blurt out how my car was acting up (totally a lie) and did he know much about VW's.. Seems to have diverted attention and the minute my stuff was put away I acted like I was late for work (I punched in 20 minutes EARLY) And I really wanted to ask how his family was doing but I was afraid of what he may have said..
Is that so wrong??

Why does this always happen to me??

So the PT job has be scheduled for 35 hours next week. Umm yeah.. too many hours for me. So I talked to the store manager about what I was looking for in a Part time gig and explained that I would like a max of 10-12 hours a week, Again reminding her that I do work full time already to the tune of 40+ hours a week.
Anyways she said this would be the last week because 3 people quit and she was stuck. And then I think about it and I should just walked away.. but me being the nice person I am, and also having shoe purchases dancing in my head..... I am such a sucker...
Then last night too, one of the mangers says to me "Hey Random, can I talk to you a minute?"

Me "Sure, whats up?" (thinking I did something wrong or screwed something up)

Manager "Ummm, my dog died today and my 10 year old thinks its her fault for letting him of the leash"
**crying ensues***

Me *blink*blink* "Oh?"

Manager "And I am not sure I can handle this because my family and I are still dealing with the death of our 5 year old"

Me *blink*blink* "Oh"

Manager "Yeah I am not sure how much more crap our family can take, first my son dies, then our dog......"

Me *blink*blink*
I feel bad, and I do not deal with death great myself so its hard for me to deal with this. And to make matters worse this is the first time I have EVER worked a shift with this man. OR TALKED TO HIM!! I understand he needed to talk to someone, and I was the closest, and I think I may have that face, or maybe its because he felt he could trust me...
Anyways not to sound like a heartless BIATTCHH but it was weird for me. And strange...

Open Letters to the fucktards that I encountered today

*** please note this post is FULL of bad things to say and just a little profanity... consider yourself warned....****

I LOVE retail, I know I am crazy for it but I just LOVE working in retail. So I worked my PT job today and let me tell you.. What a cluster fuck!!

Dear Store Manager:

You are our store manager right? I mean they pay you the big bucks and I can not figure out why your so FUCKING UNORGANIZED!!! Ok so last week you asked if I could pick up some extra shifts right? And I agreed to work Sunday (against my better judgement) Anyways, you did not change the schedule, nore did you mention to the other managers that I had agreed to take the shift. Sort of like the shit you pulled on Wednesday when you asked me to come in and I agreed because the hubby was not home and when I got there the manager on duty said to me "What are you doing here I called in "this person" to cover the shift because no one told me you were coming in. Yeah that kinda shit. Well that happened AGAIN today but a little different. I had agreed to come in Sunday, you never changed the schedule and again NEVER mentioned shit to any other manager well I debating on coming in seeing how when I worked with you yesterday and mentioned the schedule had not been changed and you "thought" you remembered but when I ran into my Dept manager at the movies she said she had no idea that I was coming in on Sunday and that it was never changed so if I did not show up no one would even notice (from my manager). Well being the kind hearted person and not wanted to fuck anyone else I show up at 8am as we had agreed and you "thought" you had remembered and it was a good fucking thing I did because if I had not the opening manager would have been left outside until 10pm when the next person came in.

Get your shit together already!! No wonder you can not hold onto any good staff!

Dear lady in the store with a APE SHIT MONKEYS:

I understand you need to get all your Christmas shopping done, as do all of us but when your children who I am certain are spawns of satan start screaming their faces off, its time for a FRIGGIN NAP!!They did not ask to be there and dragged around OUR FRIGGIN store for 2 hours screaming at the top of their bloody lungs while you decided on whether or not to get aunt Shelly sheets or a wine cooler for Christmas. You and your broad were so fucking loud that people ACTUALLY left because of you.
You are an inconsiderate ass hole, no wonder your children HATE you and throw stuff at your ass.

Dear Ass Hole parker's in the parking lot:

Serious its Christmas, chances are you are not going to be able to park any where near the door. And sitting there with your blinker on "pretending" someone is leaving, which cause all the poor souls behind you to wait 20 minutes for someone to actually leave because we can not go around you your a jerk.
And you are probably fat and need the exercise anyways.

Dear retarded "lets just put my coffee cup, monster can, beer bottle here in the middle of a display to let the "retail rats" pick it up because that's my right guys and gals:

Get some Friggin class douche bags its called a fucking garbage can, ask where you can find one, I get that your mother probably still wipes your ass but get a life.

Ok there I am done... sorry for the language carry on..

I am going to be MIA for a bit

Not from blogging just from reading and catching up on blogs.. I can still remote blog via email but the hubby is taking the computer with him, and because I insisted that we did not need another computer (he wanted to buy one on black Friday) I am stuck for 2 weeks without access. I could access from work but I am not going to risk it. Not that I have even said anything too horrible I just would not like the guys in IT sitting there reading all my thoughts and shit.....

So have a great 2 weeks, I will be able to sneak peaks when I am in DC on the weekend when we are taking breaks from sight seeing to catch up and I will blog via email to keep y'alls entertained with squirrels and shit going on in my life...........

Oh in funny PT job news there was this girl in my training class that was late every day for the 3 days of training.. and since the training she has been late by at least 1/2 hour each day.. so me being nosey and it being none of my business I asked about it

"Hey has anyone address "LATE GIRL" from being late every day?" (she was 1/2 late for her shift on Sat)

"Well, you work in HR... at least she shows up....."

Can you believe that shit... not right... but nothing I can do about it...

Started my new job tonight.. well sort of

So yeah I went in @ 5:15 as requested.
There were 5 different people trying to get my stuff into the computer so I could start. And let me just explain the "caliber" of employees here in good old Wyoming. Well lets just say its a VERY small town. And no offense to anyone who lives here or knows anyone who lives here or wants to live here..... well anyways.
They could not get me into the system and have to wait till tomorrow till the "big" manager is in in order for me to get into the system.
So I asked if there was anything I could do, maybe read some manuals or something and the lady said "no" because I am not in the system they can not have me in the store.

"Oh so you want me to leave?"

"Yeah you'll have to then we will have the "big" manager call you tomorrow"

"Ok no problem but you do know legally you need to pay me for 3 hours?"

Blink, blink (picture a dear in headlights) "Oh, how would you know that?? I will have to talk to the "big" manager about that"

So I skipped away leaving the dear in headlights sitting there ponder that even before my information is in the system I am telling her they owe me for 3 hours.

I can be SUCH a bitch some times

So I got a part time job!!

I walked into my interview and literally the gentleman asked me when I could start and what "position" would I like? Serious. He then went on to explain that although I have tonnes of experience he understands that my primary job takes priority over my part time job and blah blah blah he started me at the HIGHEST amount he could and promised a raise in 90 days. Oh and I can have as much time off as I need (for my marathons) and he was going to use me and all my experience all over the store....so WEEHOOO I have a part time job!! And I am kind of excited about it and I have been busily spending my new found earnings.

These are all so cute!!!

Which ones should I get first??? Ha ha.. and you thought my shoe thing was bad before?? But I will be also spending some hard earned cash on some bills and some stuff for my running and some surprise gifts for the hubby because y'all know how I LOVE to put together care packages...
