Busy weekend!

Well Friday was my birthday! Yay!! I love birthdays but in the last couple of years I cry on my birthday.

And its a mixed bag, I cry cause I am so blessed and so many friends and family wish me happy birthday (I LOVE facebook) and then I am sad because I am away from home.

And my mom sent me the best email.

And then my dad calls and I cry after that.

Saturday I made the hubby and I a yummy breakfast and we headed out to "look at a new car he was interested in"

Which turned into "I don't like that car, lets go test dry the first car I loved and buy it" (whole post coming about that)

Then we went to a free movie (I love me some free stuff) we went and saw a free pre-screening of "Life as we know it" With Katherine Heigl and Josh Duhamel.... Thank goodness it was free, wait for it on video. It was a cute movie but so not worth paying to see in the theater.

Life is good.

I am NOT a hoarder!!

I like to think of myself as a "collector" lol but in all seriousness our back room was bulging at the seems and the husband was getting a little upset a little out of control.

Now in my defense this is all stuff from couponing!! I am getting so good and I am LOVING giving most of it away. The hubby is too, he is bringing stuff in to the people he works with too. But I have actually been running into problems GIVING it away!!

See I had brought a huge box to a food cupboard that we had volunteered with? Well they REFUSED to give the stuff away.

THE WERE CHARGING PEOPLE FOR IT! So I asked for the reasoning behind it, I mean they give away food why not the toiletries and they said, and I quote " People take advantage of it so we have to charge for it."

And they were charging like $2 for shampoo and $1 for baby wipes!! I did not donate the stuff that I got for next to free for them to make a profit on it!

And then I called this womens shelter because I had TONNES of makeup and "lady stuff" that I had aquired and call to see if they would like it and was told "No we do not take donations like that because of an incident they had YEARS ago"

Want to know what it was? Some lady donated a BUNCH of Avon stuff and then tried to "enlist" the ladies at the shelter to do the business because it would help them get their lives on track?

Oh yeah.

Anyhoo.. Moving on I will find some other places that need it! I was thinking of the Ronald McDonald House and there are a few shelters around here that I have to call.

But in the mean time while I build up my stock again I am going to get a table at a flea market and DOWNSIZE everything I have then only get stuff that the places I contact will be needing...
Voila! There is a bed in there!

Free Yoga and Massage!

Weehoo...

This sounds a little too good to be true. But in help of me getting back into shape and losing weight I started checking out Yoga Studios in the area.

I have mentioned here my LOVE for Bikram Yoga so in my research I was looking for a Bikram studio that does not charge $17 a class.

Yeah I know.

Expensive. But when you burn over 1300 calories in a 90 minute class and it can make you sob (in a good way) like a baby, $17 is worth it.

But its a little out of my price range at this time seeing how restaurants SLOW WAY DOWN in Jan and Feb and my schedules this week PROVES IT. (I have gone from 11 shifts between 2 jobs (70 hours a week) to 6 shifts (about 30)

Ugg yeah

But this studio I found has FREE YOGA AND MASSAGE for anyone who works the daycare for 1 hour a week.

1 hour y'all. I can do that!

Fingers crossed this all works out.. I could SO use a massage and a good yoga class to get my mojo back!

The hubby is FINALLY coming home in 2 days! I could not be more excited! I have been working like crazy while he's been home in California and I REALLY need to get the house together because lets face it, I am not a very clean person....

And the house is a mess.

A big mess. I should post a picture but I am too embarrassed, to give you a "little" idea I accidentally left a bag of garbage by the door way and Ms. Daisy thought it would be fun to strew the garbage ALL OVER THE HOUSE!! It was only bathroom garbage and nothing gross but its EVERYWHERE...

Umm general question here... Has anyone used Merry Maids? And are they any good? lol I fear with the hours I am working and the time before hubby comes home I may be in some big trouble!!lol

My US magazine subscription that I used a coupon for only $4.95. I only took about a week to get my first issue! And a $10 Visa gift card from a swiffer rebate I sent in for about 6 weeks ago.
FREE chocolate!! And energy drink just for signing up!
And the MOST FABULOUS lip balm from E.O.S. Free!!


I also recieved some rebate checks too

One for $3.47 for clorox, one for $6.99 for Vitamin shampoo and one for $3.99 for something that I can not remember!

A social experiment

I already know "some people" are not honest. And completely by mistake I decided to try something at work the other night.

I forgot to ring in drinks for one of my tables I was chatting with. When I dropped off the bill they made sure to tell me that I forgot and asked to have their bill adjusted.

And then I wondered if ALL people would be as honest?

Yep, certainly not the case. On 5 of the 6 tables (only the original one told me about my error) that I PURPOSELY did not ring in drinks NO ONE pointed it out!!!

Can you believe that?? 5 tables!!! Every one of them crooks!!

People are SO MEAN!!

One of the girls I work with just got fired last night because completely by accident she gave the wrong bill to the wrong table. Exactly what I did and got written up the first time of my life? Well said party should have paid $80 and they paid the bill for only $30 without saying anything.

Really people?

I just can not help myself. This book was AMAZING! The hubby bought it when he was traveling, he though just by looking at it that it would be a scary or sci fi book. That it is not!

Here is the a summary (again totally stolen from somewhere on the internet)

Mack is the main character in this novel. His full name is Mackenzie Philips. He is a father of five children. One day Mack takes his three children on a camping trip to Multnomah Falls and Wallowa Lake near Joseph, Oregon. There, while playing on a canoe, it flips and two of the children fall into the lake. While one manages to escape the other son of Mack almost drowns. Mack wastes no time and immediately jumps into the lake to save his son, leaving behind his youngest daughter Missy alone at their campsite. He manages to save his son. But after he returns to the campsite with his two sons he finds his daughter missing. Later, he discovers that his daughter has been abducted and murdered by a serial killer known as the "Ladybug Killer". When the police are called they find an empty Shack in the woods where Missy was taken but her body is not found........

This is a christian book this book will touch true to so many readers. Although I rarely talk about religion or my belief in god this book if you do not believe I think you may just walk away a believer.

The hubby read it in 2 days. I would have read it in 1 day if life had not gotten in the way! And here is the BEST PART!!

I love this book SO MUCH!! That I am going to give away 2 books!! I would recommend however not to get online to do ANY research on this book. Read it blind as I did because it was SO MUCH better. If you research it makes the book sound all hookie.

Sunday morning

I woke up early (7am) went to the gas station and bought some YUMMY coffee, which I may add I only drink about once every 6 months (caffeine and I are not friends) and picked up 2 Sunday papers. I was SO EXCITED to get home and clip coupons (crazy I know)

Then the hubby and I set out to do our grocery shopping with my coupon book in hand. I asked him at one point "Does this embarrass you?"

He said "No, it just slows it down a little bit"

The grand savings was $20 on our purchases some of it was sale stuff and some was coupons but the hubby was so impressed he said we should have been doing this sooner!! We also got a $5 gift card to use at another time! If we do this 10 times that $200 in our pockets!

And because I had to work Sunday night I was not finished till about 11 so I thought I would stop back at the same gas station to see if they had any papers left. They still have about 5 so I smiled nicely and asked "Seeing how its 11pm could I maybe have the coupons out of some of the newspapers you have left?"

AND THEY LET ME!!! I only took 3 more in case someone did want to purchase a paper but WEEHOOO I love me some coupons!

This was SUCH a great book!! I may have cried a little its an easy read but it may not be for everyone. Here is a brief "summary" that I totally stole from somewhere on the internet.
