Flights are booked!

My flights are booked for Canada WEEHOO!!!

I am so excited, I will be home with family and friends from August 14th till September 2nd!!

I am a little bummed out about it though. The hubby is not coming as we had originally planned for a few reasons. 1. He is taking time off already in August for a prior commitment he has. 2. Daisy (because she can not be kennelled) 3. Money. 4. He has LOTS of stuff going on at work and is not sure if its the right thing to do to take off so much work.

I had an interview today and I have a second interview on Friday (for another serving job) and I have been applying at various "big girl jobs" with still no luck. I need to start working LIKE crazy because when I take time off, well I am not getting paid. Anything. So 2 1/2 weeks with no pay is going to HURT!

I know something has gotta give soon right?

So per your request the spill about the new job.

Its a cushy Gov job. Yep that's the spill. I am 1-4 interviews with the Gov out here which REALLY sucks.

Job 1 - Re-posted because they wanted someone with a degree.

Job 2 - Said I was too over qualified.

Job 3 - I was a lead candidate but was beaten by someone with a degree (its all done on a points system)

Job 4 - IS MINE!!!

Finally in with the gov, pending a criminal background and credit check which I am sure should be fine unless something comes up that I am not sure about.

And YES Patty I will get to wear all my cute shoes which as you could probably guess I am VERY excited about.

But I am VERY confused about a few things. See to me business casual is slacks and a blouse, but having gone in today to fill out paperwork "business casual" to these people are flip flops and hoodies?

Am I just strange? I mean that a little "casual" for business casual, no?

Why you gotta be so mean?

So funny thing today, my first table of the day is these 4 old people. When I say old we are talking late 60's?

Anyways they ask for something that we do not do.

I tell them as much and they CALL ME A LIAR!!

So I tell the manager and the manager goes over to reiterate at the table the same thing I just explained to them and they CALLED HIM A LIAR!

Its funny really. I don't think getting old is an excuse to be rude and impossible. I mean I can understand you have more life experience than most but to be right out NASTY!!

I can laugh at it now and I did my best to "Kill them with kindness" but I always wonder about people like that.

Was your life so bad that you have to make it impossible for others to enjoy it??

Oh and I got a new job. And I am excited. I am still going to keep the restaurant gig because I LOVE it so WEEHOOO for the new job.

I wonder if I am ready to go back to a 9-5?
