So yesterday was a day like any other.
I ate lunch at work and it was yummy I had shrimp and fries, I must also add that I have eaten seafood about 4 days a week since birth.
About 2 hours after I ate I walked into the kitchen and felt light headed. Then I broke out in HUGE hives, turned bright red. The paramedics came to check me out and said that they think it was a shellfish allergy and I had some benadryl.
They also made me have my husband come pick me up or I was leaving in a ambulance. I was feeling fine but about half way home I started having chest pains. And trouble breathing.
So yep off to the ER with me. The hubby was behind me because I did not want to leave my car at work.
They originally thought it could have been a blood clot in my heart, they thought this because of all the symptoms and the fact that it took us 13 hours to get home at thanksgiving which could have caused the clot.
No blood clot.
They moved on to allergy's. Which I have NEVER had. EVER. I love seafood, I always have but now I am the proud owner of an epipen because there is a "chance" that I have developed an allergy to shellfish.
And they have NO idea what is wrong with me. And I am still having the chest pains.
We touched a bit on the anxiety bit, well you know because there is nothing going on in our lives. and I had another "attack" while shopping today.
So I need to find a doctor to figure out what is going.
Its all scary. And yes I cried. The hubby is going through so much more than I can ever imagine and I am falling apart at the seams.....
When it rains it pours I just wonder what the frig is wrong with me. And both times my chest hurts and I lose my breath I am not doing anything weird or worrying about anything?
Sound strange to you?

Maybe it is stress...you can get Shingles from stress...so this may be something like that. Sometimes stress manifests itself when you have calmed down from the stressor. For example, coming down with an illness after final exams are over.
I really hope you get this figured out. You have a lot going on right now and this certainly doesn't help you out. Take it easy.

My husband just randomly started being allergic to shrimp. He's eaten it tons of time before, but all of a sudden his throat closed up and his chest got tight. Now he can't eat it. Allergies can definitely just show up out of nowhere. I hope you feel better!
That's horrible. And you are right, when it rains it pours. Hope they figure out what's causing it and fix you soon.
Hi there...
Thanks for coming to visit Gary & I...
Your random illlness is very strange.. I have recently developed an extreme reaction to cold and they can't find what is wrong with me... less scary than tyour problem but most inconvienient.
Keep your head up with the cancer. My Dad was diagnosed with Prostate cancer in June. He had new hormone treatment and radiotherapy and today is completely clear... fingers crossed it wont re-appear but the doctors are super happy.
I've friended you and I'll put a link to you on y blog so I can keep up with how things are going..
Gary says hi!
Clare
some might say it's a panic attack. there is a lot going on in your life. but yes...so scary to not know what the heck is wrong with you and really, it's just one more thing to add to everything else going on. Feel better. Go to your own doctor. Hope you can get it figured out.
No, it does not sound strange- it sounds way too familiar. My Hubby went through much the same thing- after tons of tests- it was diagnosed as anxiety. It was one of the most stress free times of our life but he made 2 trips to the ER with chest pains. They had to rule everything else out before saying it was anxiety. It is very scarey!
my little brother had/has bad anxiety; he described it to me as if someone's sitting on your chest and you cant breath and your hearts racing trying to breathe. he went on medicine that he takes twice daily and while he gets anxious, its 99% better than before.
thanks for the christmas card, by the way!
I'm so sorry this is happening now...but I bet it's stress if you have not had this reaction before. Hang in there. It's raining on you now, but the sun will shine again. You all are in my prayers.
Hey there...thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment. Sorry about your recent events. I pray that your chest pain will go away and you won't have those symptoms anymore. Your hubby is also in my prayers. Take care.
Oh no! That's awful! I'm sorry you're going through this. It could just be all the stress you're going through.
I'm so unbelievably sorry about this. I hope that your doctor is able to give you a definitive answer about what's wrong. You're definitely right...when it rains, it pours.
Wow that is scary! I hope they find the cause of this soon and that it is nothing serious. I'll be thinking about you!
Thanks for stopping by today. I'm now following so I can keep up with your story and your hubby's.
Something in the friggin air?!?! My son has eaten peanut butter since he was 1 yr old.... Tuesday he breaks out in hives. Again on Wed. His pedi said it was a peanut allergy. I was like WTH!! We're taking him to an allergist after Christmas. He's also the proud owner of an Epi pen.
I hope you figure out what it is!! I know you and your husband are dealing with lot. You certainly don't need more to worry about. Saying a prayer for you guys and sending good thoughts.
